Based at: Civic Office/Hybrid, Doncaster
Salary Details: £8.00 per hour/ £15,434.27 per annum from 1st April 2026, for all ages in their first year of the apprenticeship. The National Minimum Wage as appropriate to age is then paid for the remainder of the apprenticeship contract following completion of the first year. Year 2 (ongoing)
Salary will follow the current National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age:
18 Years and under remain on £8.00 per hour / £296 per week / £15,392 per annum;
19 – 20 Years increase to £10.85 per hour / £401 per week / £20,875 per annum;
21 Years and over increase to £12.71 per hour / £470 per week / £24,454 per annum.
Contract Type: Apprenticeship – Temporary Fixed Term. The post will be for 18-21 months from start date, until completion of the qualification.
Hours: 37 Hours per week, Full Time
Flexible working arrangements: We operate hybrid working so will be a mix of home and office working.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Strategic Procurement Team, assisting in providing effective, high quality, comprehensive and confidential dedicated support.
Combining work and education, this role allows you to take steps in starting or changing your career. Studying for a L3 qualification in procurement and supply whist gaining high sought after skills in all aspects of Procurement support including; high level organisational skills, email and diary management, attending and taking notes in meetings, preparing agenda’s, booking meeting rooms, dealing with correspondence and making travel arrangements as well as a number of the ‘little things’ that help managers and the organisation run smoothly.
The role requires an efficient and consistent approach and therefore we are looking for a candidate that;

Is confident with a positive 'can do' approach
- Is flexible and self-motivated
- Has or is predicted five GCSEs at a grade 9-4/A*-C including English and Maths or equivalent
- Has good time management abilities
- Can use their own initiative,
- Is happy to work with others
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role, there will be a requirement to work across different sites across the council (with or without reasonable adjustments)
About You
No experience is required, just a desire to succeed, enthusiasm and a keen interest in the range of council functions and organisation. Due to the nature of this role you will represent the Council, evidencing the professional and business-like approach we have to customers, potential customers and other partners. You will be expected to work in accordance with service standards, procedures and timescales and take a significant role in ensuring we meet our service priorities, so a flexible approach is required.
