Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and extensive experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Duties

Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Manage and oversee the food production process to ensure consistency and quality standards are met
Lead, motivate, and manage the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes while respecting cost controls
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
Oversee staff scheduling, training programmes, and performance appraisals
Maintain excellent customer service by ensuring timely service and addressing any issues promptly
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership within a hospitality environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations with relevant certifications preferred
Experience in food production planning and restaurant operations management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Strong communication skills to effectively lead staff and liaise with management
A passion for hospitality, serving high-quality dishes, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
