Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior to join our growing accountancy practice.

This is a great opportunity for someone with around 4 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice who is confident managing a varied workload and dealing directly with clients.

The Role

Working as part of our accounts team, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing limited company accounts from client records through to review stage
Preparing sole trader and partnership accounts
Preparing Corporation Tax returns
Preparing Self Assessment tax returns
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Completing bookkeeping and reviewing client records where required
Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
Ensuring work is completed accurately and within relevant filing deadlines
Supporting more junior members of the team where required
Working closely with managers and directors across the practice

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has a minimum of 4 years’ recent experience within an accountancy practice
Has strong experience preparing limited company accounts
Is confident preparing VAT returns and personal and corporate tax returns
Has a good understanding of UK accounting and taxation requirements
Is comfortable communicating directly with clients
Can manage their own workload and work to deadlines
Has excellent attention to detail
Is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

AAT qualified or part-qualified would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates who have gained strong practical experience within an accountancy practice.
