Full job description

Overview

The Shift Lead is responsible for making and overseeing the pizza take way/collections operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service, food quality, and team performance. This role supports the Store Manager by leading team members, maintaining operational standards, and creating a positive dining and delivery experience for customers.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership

Supervise and support team members, including pizza makers, cashiers, servers, and delivery drivers.
Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow throughout the shift.
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Lead by example in customer service, professionalism, and food safety practices.

Store Operations

Open and close the store according to company procedures.
Ensure all stations are properly staffed and operating efficiently.
Monitor food preparation to maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
Ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
Address operational issues and customer concerns in a timely manner.

Customer Service

Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Resolve customer complaints professionally and effectively.
Support front-of-house operations during busy periods.
Promote a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers.

Food Safety & Quality

Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Monitor food handling, storage, and preparation procedures.
Conduct routine cleanliness and safety inspections throughout the shift.
Maintain company standards for pizza quality and product consistency.

Inventory & Cash Management

Assist with inventory control and stock replenishment.
Monitor ingredient usage and report shortages to management.
Handle cash transactions, register reconciliation, and end-of-shift reporting.
Minimize waste and support cost-control initiatives.

Performance & Compliance

Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Complete shift reports and communicate important updates to management.
Support achievement of sales, labor, and operational goals.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous pizza, food service, or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Basic math, cash handling, and computer skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat and food preparation equipment.
