Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Room Leader to oversee and organise early childhood education activities within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for nurturing young children’s development. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, implement educational programmes, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children. Applicants must have relevant childcare experience and hold appropriate qualifications in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of nursery staff, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained at all times
Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities that support children’s developmental milestones
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes learning, socialisation, and emotional well-being
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years’ frameworks
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children’s progress and daily activities
Maintain accurate records of children’s development and attendance
Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and training
Manage daily operational tasks within the room to ensure smooth running of activities

Skills

Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
Experience working directly with children in a childcare environment or nursery setting
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively while maintaining a nurturing approach
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings or events
A genuine passion for child development and creating enriching learning experiences

Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
