Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing food production.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Help develop new menu items and contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.

Requirements

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar position within a hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and food safety practices.
Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
A passion for cooking and creating innovative dishes that delight guests.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
Proven experience in prep work and use of fresh ingredients.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
