Full job description

21.5 hours per week – some flexibility available
Potential to increase hours / become full-time as the company grows

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

MetafluxUK is a growing supplier of specialist industrial products to businesses across the UK.

We're looking for an Admin & Sales Assistant to join our small, friendly team.

This is a varied role and would suit someone who is organised, confident, good with people and happy to get stuck in wherever needed. As a small business, we all help each other out, so no two days are exactly the same.

What You'll Be Doing

Processing customer orders
Creating invoices, packing slips and postage/shipping labels
Responding to customer emails and telephone enquiries
Preparing and sending quotations
Following up quotations and customer enquiries
Making outbound calls to existing and potential customers (When needed)
Checking in with previous customers and identifying new sales opportunities
Helping customers with product enquiries
Maintaining customer and sales records
Updating spreadsheets and producing basic monthly sales reports
Supporting our sales representatives with information and administration
General office administration
Assisting with stock checks helping prepare or pack orders when required
Supporting the wider team with general day-to-day tasks

We're a small team, so we're looking for somebody who doesn't mind occasionally helping outside their normal duties when things get busy.

Organised and reliable
Confident speaking to customers on the telephone
Comfortable using computers, email and Microsoft Office
Good attention to detail
Able to work independently and use initiative
Friendly and professional
Comfortable making outbound customer calls
Willing to learn about our products and industry
A team player who is happy to get stuck in

Previous office, administration, customer service or sales experience would be beneficial, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

Computer & Systems Skills

A good level of computer literacy is important for this role. You should be comfortable learning and using different systems as part of your day-to-day work.

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
Creating and maintaining spreadsheets
Basic formulas, data entry and producing simple reports in Excel
Accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
Processing sales orders, invoices and customer records
CRM or customer database systems
Online postage, courier and shipping systems
E-commerce or website order management systems

Experience with Xero would be particularly useful, but isn't essential as training can be provided.

We're more interested in someone who is confident with computers, learns new systems quickly and isn't afraid to work things out than someone who has experience with every piece of software we use.

Additional Skills – Not Essential

We'd also be particularly interested in applicants with experience or an interest in any of the following:

Social media
Marketing
Graphic design
Photography or videography
Creating promotional content
Website/e-commerce administration

These skills are not required for the role, but could create opportunities for additional responsibilities, increased hours and higher pay depending on experience.
