Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef/Cook to join our culinary team at Orchard Court Care Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a diverse range of meals according to recipes and quality standards
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations
Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with inventory management
Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures diligently
Assist with meal plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Serve dishes efficiently and courteously to guests when required

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a care home or catering environment
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Previous experience in meal preparation, food safety, and serving is desirable
Relevant kitchen or culinary qualifications are advantageous but not essential for motivated candidates

Job Description:

A job vacancy has come available for a cook/chef position within our family run Residential Care Home.

Working hours are between 7:00-15:00, rota is in situ and every other weekend would be required.
