Location: Manchester / North West

Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 basic + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission

OTE: £80,000–£100,000+

The Opportunity

Sheridan Fire Systems is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead new business growth across Manchester and the North West.

This is not an account-management-only role.

We are looking for someone who knows the fire protection industry, understands how to win commercial contracts and, ideally, already has a strong network of decision-makers across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a substantial new-business pipeline and converting opportunities into long-term, profitable contracts.

Services

You will be developing opportunities across areas including:

* Passive fire protection

* Fire stopping

* Fire doors

* Fire alarm systems

* Emergency lighting

* Fire extinguishers

* Planned servicing and maintenance

* Compliance and remedial works

* Fire protection packages for construction projects

The Role

You will be responsible for:

* Identifying and winning new commercial fire-protection contracts

* Building and managing a strong new-business pipeline

* Developing relationships with main contractors, FM providers, property managers and developers

* Targeting housing associations, care groups, education, hospitality and commercial property clients

* Generating your own opportunities alongside company-generated leads

* Attending client meetings, networking events and site visits

* Developing opportunities from initial introduction through to contract award

* Working with estimating and operational teams to prepare competitive proposals

* Managing tenders and framework opportunities

* Cross-selling services across the wider Sheridan Group where appropriate

* Maintaining accurate pipeline and sales forecasts

* Reporting directly to senior management on opportunities, conversions and revenue

Who We’re Looking For

We want an experienced fire-industry salesperson/business developer, ideally with an established network across Manchester and the North West.

You should have:

* Proven experience selling fire protection or fire & life-safety services

* A demonstrable record of winning new commercial contracts

* Existing relationships within construction, FM, property or compliance sectors

* Strong understanding of the tender and procurement process

* Excellent commercial and negotiation skills

* Confidence dealing with senior decision-makers

* The ability to generate your own leads rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries

* A target-driven mentality with a focus on profitable revenue

Experience selling passive fire protection, fire stopping, fire doors, fire alarms or maintenance contracts would be particularly attractive.

Package

£55,000 – £70,000 basic salary

Plus:

* Car allowance

* Uncapped commission
