Job description
We are looking for a proactive, high-performing Facilities Manager to join the Property Operations team. Our Facilities Managers lead the delivery of our admin estate as a safe, compliant and resilient service that colleagues can rely on; supported by clear ownership, strong governance and a culture focused on fixing issues at source.
As a high performing On Site Facilities Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of facilities and workplace services at Bothwell Street, ensuring a safe, compliant and high-quality environment that supports both colleague experience and operational performance.
Working alongside the property suppliers, you’ll help deliver Nationwide’s strategic objectives by maintaining a well-controlled, customer-focused workplace. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring services are delivered in line with agreed standards, risks are identified and effectively managed, and performance is continuously improved.
You’ll act as a key interface between stakeholders and service partners, providing clarity, oversight and direction across all facilities activity. Through strong supplier liaison and engagement with internal teams, you’ll help to ensure service delivery is consistent, issues are proactively addressed, and the workplace experience supports colleagues to perform at their best.
You’ll also support governance and reporting, maintaining visibility of operational performance, compliance and risk across the site, and contributing to ongoing improvements that enhance both efficiency and colleague outcomes.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend each day based onsite at our Glasgow office.
If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here .
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
You will collaborate extensively across Property, supplier and business teams to ensure the effective delivery of facilities and workplace services at Bothwell Street. You’ll bring operational expertise and insight that enables Nationwide to maintain a safe, compliant and high-performing workplace whilst supporting a positive colleague experience.
You’ll oversee day-to-day service delivery, ensuring risks are identified, appropriately managed and resolved at source, maintaining clear visibility of operational performance and supporting reporting into governance forums where required.
You will need to stay abreast of operational, regulatory and health & safety requirements that may impact the estate, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure that appropriate controls are in place and that service delivery continues to meet both current and future needs.
About you
Proven experience in facilities or workplace management within a corporate or multi-site environment
Extensive experience in an on-site Facilities Manager or Lead role, with accountability for operational service delivery
Demonstrable experience managing third-party suppliers, including performance management against KPIs/SLAs
Strong knowledge and practical application of health & safety and compliance requirements within a workplace environment
Experience of managing multiple operational priorities simultaneously, with evidence of delivering consistent service performance
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and resolve issues across business and supplier teams
Experience of using workplace systems and tools (e.g. CAFM or office/workplace management systems) to manage service delivery and reporting
