Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their culinary skills within a professional setting. The position involves assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

The role is for 45 hours per week over 5 days.

28 days holiday per year - Including bank holidays

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with menu specifications
Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring quality standards are met
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in line with food safety regulations
Help with storing ingredients correctly and organising stock supplies
Support the serving team during busy periods to ensure timely delivery of meals
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards
Assist with washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as required
Contribute to the overall organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen environment

Skills

Previous experience in catering is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Good understanding of food preparation and safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong organisational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and meal preparation processes is advantageous
Flexibility to adapt to various tasks within the kitchen setting
