Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring smooth operations and a hygienic environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the food service industry, particularly for those interested in developing their culinary and hospitality skills. The role is suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for supporting a busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks such as restocking supplies and maintaining storage areas.
Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts.
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Adhering to all health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members.

Skills

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food hygiene standards is desirable.
Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering establishments is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
