JOB TITLE: Skilled Artisan Baker

LOCATION: Crumbs Bakery in Watton at Stone, SG14 3SB (note, we're not in Hertford)

CONTRACT: Permanent full time over 5 days including weekends

SALARY: £33,000 - £35,000 pa depending on experience

We are proud to be an independent artisan bakery with two thriving cafés, and we're now preparing for the next exciting stage of our journey - Crumbs HQ, a new production bakery that will support our future growth.

We're looking for an experienced Artisan Baker to become part of the team that helps build it.

WHAT YOU'LL BE MAKING

You'll work with a skilled bakery team producing:

Naturally fermented sourdough
Croissants and laminated pastries
Cakes and traybakes
Seasonal bakery specials

You'll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop new products and continuously improve the way we bake.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You will ideally have:

At least 2 years' experience in a professional artisan bakery
Excellent sourdough production skills
Confident pastry lamination experience
Experience producing consistently to commercial volumes
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
High standards of cleanliness, food safety and allergen awareness
Pride in producing beautiful products every day
A positive, team-focused attitude
Fluent English and the legal right to work in the UK

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys baking and wants to keep learning.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Produce artisan breads and pastries to Crumbs' quality standards
Help maintain a beautiful, well-stocked bakery counter every day
Work efficiently while never compromising quality
Support product development and seasonal launches
Follow recipes and production systems accurately
Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards
Work closely with an experienced bakery team to continuously improve quality and efficiency
