About the Role

We are an artisanal food production business making French style charcuterie, based in Newington Green, London. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Slicing & packing Assistant & Kitchen Porter to join our team.

This is a dynamic, hybrid role split between precision food preparation—primarily portioning and packing high-quality terrines—assisting chefs on the production line, and maintaining kitchen hygiene.

For the right candidate, this role offers real long-term progression. As our business expands, there is a clear path to step up into running a growing team of packers and kitchen porters, or to train and specialise in charcuterie production or manufacturing logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Precision Slicing: Accurately measure, portion, and slice terrines to ensure consistent sizing, weight control, and minimal yield waste.

Packing & Labelling: Safely pack and vacuum-seal products according to strict specifications and prepare orders for dispatch.

Production Support: Assist chefs with general food prep, ingredient measuring, and stock movements throughout the shift.

Kitchen Hygiene & Dishwashing: Maintain clean work stations, operate the pot-wash station, and carry out end-of-day washdowns to ensure high hygiene standards.

Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to kitchen hygiene guidelines, assist with temperature logs, and practice clean-as-you-go principles.

Requirements & Candidate Profile

Language Skills: Strong spoken English and excellent verbal comprehension to follow detailed production sheets, health & safety directives, and recipes accurately.
Location: Must live within manageable commute of Newington Green, London.
Experience: Prior experience working in a kitchen or food production environment.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
