Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiter/Host to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role involves welcoming guests, managing reservations, and delivering exceptional service to ensure a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in guest services and food service operations.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
Escort guests to their tables and present menus with enthusiasm
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted
Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Ensure all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, are adhered to during service
Assist with setting up tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining a tidy dining area throughout service
Provide attentive guest services, addressing any concerns or special requirements courteously
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or organisation tasks when needed
Handle cash or card transactions accurately at the end of each shift

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable
Familiarity with kitchen operations or culinary experience can be beneficial in understanding menu offerings and guest needs
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Excellent communication skills to engage with guests professionally and courteously
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing purposes
Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue generation
