The Carpenters Arms in Ossett and The Cherry Tree in Horbury are looking for a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen teams across both venues.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef who thrives in busy, food-led pub environments and wants to play a key role in delivering exceptional food, developing great teams, and creating memorable guest experiences.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you'll work closely with the management teams at both venues to drive the food offer, lead and inspire the kitchen teams, and ensure exceptional standards are maintained every day.

You'll play a key role in recruiting, training, and developing your teams while taking ownership of kitchen operations, food quality, and profitability across both sites.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver consistently outstanding food quality and presentation.
Lead, motivate, and develop high-performing kitchen teams across both venues.
Manage kitchen operations, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
Drive kitchen profitability through effective cost control and waste management.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
Work collaboratively with the management teams to enhance the guest experience.
Maintain a positive, organised, and professional kitchen environment.
Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of kitchen team members.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready for the next step.
Strong background in busy, food-led pubs, inns, or hospitality venues.
Proven ability to manage and develop kitchen teams.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Strong understanding of GP management, stock control, and kitchen finances.
Passion for quality ingredients, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
Food Safety Level 2 or above (preferred).
A flexible and hands-on approach to supporting two successful pub kitchens.
