Are you an experienced operational leader with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care? We are seeking a dynamic and driven Acute Care Operations Manager to join our senior leadership team and lead the operational delivery of inpatient, access and urgent care services.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and improving mental health services, working in a complex, fast-paced environment where your leadership will directly impact patient outcomes, staff experience and service performance.

Main duties of the job

As an Acute Care Operations Manager, you will:

Lead the day-to-day operational management of designated specialist services
Support the strategic planning and delivery of services across the locality
Work closely with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to drive performance, quality and safety
Ensure services meet key performance indicators, financial targets and governance standards
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, inclusion and compassionate leadership

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will have responsibility for operational performance, workforce management, financial oversight, and service development, while ensuring that services remain responsive to the needs of service users, carers and stakeholders.

Provide visible, effective leadership across multidisciplinary teams
Monitor and improve service performance, quality and safety outcomes
Lead service redesign, transformation and improvement initiatives
Manage budgets and resources, ensuring financial sustainability
Oversee HR processes, including recruitment, performance management and workforce planning
Ensure compliance with Trust policies, governance frameworks and national standards
Contribute to strategic planning, commissioning and business development activities
Participate in the on-call rota

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Education to degree level or evidence of sound intellectual ability and ongoing personal development at senior management level
Recognised post graduate management qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria

Experience of managing health and social care integrated services

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Good working knowledge of wider health and social care system and structures, policies, procedures and legislation relevant to services areas.
Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and national drivers underpinning services for people with mental health problems.

Skills

Essential criteria

A proven record of success in managing significant operational / strategic change whilst also developing and maintaining the provision of a high quality service, within a clinical setting, with multidisciplinary teams
Promote, monitor and maintain best practice in health, safety and security

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant experience working within and Managing clinical services
Demonstrable experience of relationship management with external regulatory bodies

Desirable criteria

Working in a range of management roles and environments
