Full job description

Plastic Injection Mould Setter (Night Shift)

Location: Yaxley, Peterborough

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 18:00–06:00

Wage: £18.12p/h

Type: Full-time | Permanent

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Injection Mould Setter to join our night shift team in Yaxley. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled setter who takes pride in maintaining high production standards, solving problems quickly, and keeping manufacturing running smoothly. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in delivering quality output, reducing downtime, and supporting a safe, efficient, and high-performing production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Set up, adjust, and maintain injection moulding machines to achieve optimum performance and output.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues quickly to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
Carry out tooling changes safely, efficiently, and in line with production requirements.
Support high standards of quality, housekeeping, and compliance with health and safety procedures.
Provide supervisory cover during holidays or absences when required.

What we're looking for

Strong demonstratable experience in an injection moulding manufacturing environment, including machine setting.
Strong experience in changing tools and keeping machines running efficiently at optimum capacity.
Ability to calibrate masterbatch units in line with setting sheets and production requirements.
Confidence in monitoring machine performance against cycle times and quality standards, with the ability to respond quickly to production issues and minimise rejects.
Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with operators, supervisors, and managers.
A reasonable level of computer literacy to input scrap quantities, downtime reasons, and other production data into the ERP system.
A well-organised approach and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Good numeracy skills and clear written and verbal communication, with a good standard of spoken and written English.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
A strong commitment to quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
