Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for a curious, practical and enthusiastic recent graduate to join our Business Systems team.

You will help colleagues across the company use a wide range of business applications effectively, investigate problems, keep users informed and contribute to improvements that make day-to-day work easier and enhance the customer experience.

This role would suit someone who enjoys understanding how organisations work, asking thoughtful questions and solving problems. You do not need to join us as a technical expert. Through training, coaching and hands-on experience, you will develop valuable skills in business systems, application support and business analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Provide friendly first-line support to colleagues using the company’s business applications, responding to questions and service requests through the agreed support process.
Investigate incidents methodically, reproduce problems where possible, identify likely causes and resolve straightforward issues within your level of training and access.
Triage and prioritise requests, keep users updated and escalate complex, urgent or security-sensitive issues to the appropriate colleague or external software supplier.
Support a varied application portfolio, which will include CRM, ecommerce and order-management systems, customer service, payments, marketing, finance, reporting, HR and workplace productivity tools.
Create, amend and remove user accounts and permissions in line with approved access-control and data-protection procedures.
Maintain accurate notes and records of solutions, system changes and known issues, helping the team identify and address recurring problems.
Help maintain user guides, process maps, standard operating procedures, FAQs and training materials.
Show users how to complete tasks effectively and assist with short demonstrations or training sessions.
Gather and document clear business requirements for small changes, reports and system enhancements.
Assist with system configuration, testing and user acceptance testing for upgrades, fixes and new functionality.
Carry out routine data checks and help improve data quality, reporting accuracy and system housekeeping.
Work with teams across the business and with third-party suppliers to coordinate fixes and improvements.
Identify patterns in support requests and suggest practical ways to improve systems, processes and the customer or colleague experience.
Follow change-management, information-security, privacy and business-continuity procedures, escalating concerns promptly where required.

Role Requirements

A recent degree in a relevant subject.
A genuine interest in how technology supports customers, colleagues and business performance.
Logical and structured problem-solving skills, with the patience to investigate issues thoroughly.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain unfamiliar topics in plain language.
A helpful, customer-focused approach and confidence working with colleagues across different teams and roles.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several requests without losing track of commitments.
Confidence using Microsoft 365 or comparable workplace tools, particularly Excel.
A willingness to learn unfamiliar systems, accept feedback and take ownership within appropriate boundaries.
An understanding of the importance of protecting personal, customer and commercially sensitive information.
