Job Overview

The Night Porter at Shireburn Arms is a vital role responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during overnight hours. The successful candidate will provide exceptional guest services, handle late-night enquiries, and maintain the hotel's standards of hospitality. This position offers an opportunity to work within a welcoming environment, supporting guests' needs while upholding the reputation of Shireburn Arms as a premier destination. Multilingual and bilingual skills are highly desirable to assist a diverse clientele.

Duties

Welcome and assist guests arriving during night hours, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person with excellent phone etiquette and hospitality skills
Monitor security systems and conduct regular checks throughout the premises to ensure safety
Manage late-night reservations, check-ins, and check-outs efficiently
Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, or emergencies with professionalism and courtesy
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of common areas such as reception, corridors, and lobby
Assist with administrative tasks including logging incidents or maintenance issues during shift
Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address any overnight guest needs or property concerns

Experience

Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous for effective communication with international guests
Strong phone etiquette and excellent guest service skills are essential
Experience in hospitality or customer service roles will support success in this position
Knowledge of hotel operations and security procedures is beneficial but not mandatory

This role is ideal for organised individuals who enjoy working independently during night shifts while delivering outstanding service in a welcoming setting.

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour
