Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing delicious, nutritious meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and culinary arts will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests or residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your cooking skills and gain valuable kitchen experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by following instructions from senior kitchen staff and ensuring timely meal production
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper storage of ingredients and adherence to hygiene standards
Help with serving meals to customers or residents in a courteous and efficient manner
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow all health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Understanding of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or evenings if necessary
Prior experience with meal preparation or culinary training is a plus but not mandatory
