Job Overview

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and enthusiasm will help keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will support the culinary team by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Your dedication will ensure that food preparation and service flow seamlessly, allowing us to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced hospitality setting while contributing to a vibrant team atmosphere.

Duties

Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients to assist chefs with food preparation tasks
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment
Assist with the proper storage of ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness and safety standards are met
Support the kitchen team during busy service times by clearing tables and assisting with basic serving duties when needed
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by adhering to hygiene standards at all times
Help with waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain an eco-friendly kitchen environment
Restock supplies and organize storage areas for efficiency and ease of access

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is highly desirable but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and efficiently
A passion for hospitality, cooking, or culinary arts is a plus but not required; training will be provided
Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with health regulations
