About The Organisation

We proudly serve a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in both North and South Lanarkshire. NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

The role will be to provide a comprehensive administrative service to the medical and nursing teams within the ward environment

Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

In this key role, you will:

Provide a high quality administrative service for the medical and nursing staff to ensure efficiency in patient care.
Ensure availability of case notes at the time of patient admission, which may involve liaising with other hospitals.
Deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers providing information directly and prioritising queries as appropriate ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
Responsible for arranging review appointments for the appropriate clinic and arranging transport to facilitate the patient journey.

What You'll Bring:

Good basic education.
Basic understanding of office procedures.
Proficient in use of Software systems.
Good organisational and communication skills.

A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
