Full job description

Overview

Taipec Ltd is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team and help grow our business across the UK food industry.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will manage a team of Account Managers, develop key customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the company's commercial strategy. This role combines people management, strategic planning, and hands-on customer engagement.

If you are commercially driven, enjoy building long-term customer partnerships, and have experience leading a sales team, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties

Lead, coach and support a team of Account Managers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key trade customers.
Identify and secure new business opportunities and high-volume accounts.
Analyse sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
Work closely with Senior Management to develop and implement sales strategies.
Act as the main escalation point for key customer enquiries.
Support customer visits and product presentations.
Collaborate with Product, Operations and other departments to deliver excellent customer service.
Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards and relevant legislation.
Promote a positive company image and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Experience

At least 5 years' experience in a Sales Manager or Senior Sales role.
Proven experience managing and developing a sales team of five or more team members.
Strong relationship management skills with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships across departments and act as a bridge between senior management and operational teams.
Excellent presentation.
Proactive, self-motivated, and confident in identifying opportunities for business improvement and contributing to commercial strategy.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting sales data to support business decisions.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese are essential.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

Experience within the Food Manufacturing, Food Distribution or FMCG industry.
Familiarity with BRCGS, FSSC22000 or other GFSI food standards.
Experience working with retail or wholesale customers.
Cantonese language skills would be an advantage.
