£35,000 basic salary plus uncapped commission

Realistic OTE around £70,000

Loughborough based, full-time, permanent

Pogo Energy designs and installs solar PV, battery storage, heat pump and EV charging systems.

We are looking for a technically minded salesperson who can help customers make confident decisions about renewable energy. You do not have to come from the solar industry. If you have sold technical systems such as burglar alarms, CCTV, fire systems, access control, HVAC, telecoms, electrical products, smart home systems or similar, your experience could transfer very well.

Most of our customers have already made an enquiry. They are considering an investment in their home or business and need someone who can understand what they want to achieve, explain the options clearly and help them choose the right solution.

This is a consultative sales role. You will be trained on our products and supported by our design, surveying, installation and operations teams. Your job is to lead the customer conversation, shape the initial recommendation, prepare a clear proposal and follow the opportunity through to order.

You will own your pipeline and be accountable for sales performance. The best results will come from good questions, clear explanations, prompt follow-up and building trust.

What you will do

Speak with customers who have enquired about solar PV, battery storage, heat pumps or EV charging.
Understand their property, energy use, budget and reasons for considering renewable energy.
Recommend suitable outline options using Pogo Energy's pricing and proposal tools.
Explain expected savings, generation, payback, warranties and the installation process in plain English.
Prepare and present customer proposals.
Follow up professionally and progress suitable opportunities to signed order.
Keep accurate notes, quotations and next steps in the CRM.
Work with our survey, design and installation teams where technical validation is needed.
Hand over completed sales clearly to the operations team.
Build your product knowledge across solar, batteries, heat pumps and EV charging.

What success looks like

Customers understand the recommendation and feel confident in the advice.
Proposals are clear, accurate and sent promptly.
Your pipeline is well organised and followed up consistently.
You convert suitable enquiries into orders.
Sales targets are achieved without compromising customer trust or system suitability.
The operations team receives complete and accurate information after the sale.

What we are looking for

You may already work in renewable energy, but you do not have to.

We would be very interested in hearing from people with technical sales experience in areas such as:

Burglar alarms, CCTV, fire alarms or access control.
Electrical products or electrical contracting.
Heating, air conditioning or HVAC.
Telecoms, fibre, networking or data cabling.
Smart home or home automation.
EV charging.
Building services or building management systems.
Other survey-led or installation-led technical sales roles.

You will need:

A track record in sales, account management or customer-facing technical advice.
The confidence to discuss technical products with homeowners or business customers.
The ability to learn new products and explain them simply.
Good commercial judgement and follow-up discipline.
Experience working to sales, revenue or activity targets.
Strong organisation and accurate record keeping.
A credible, straightforward communication style.
The ability to work primarily from our Loughborough office.

Useful but not essential

Solar PV, battery, heat pump or EV charging knowledge.
Experience with proposal tools or CRM systems.
Experience discussing savings, payback or return on investment.
Electrical, renewable-energy, security, telecoms, HVAC or technical qualifications.

What Pogo Energy offers

£35,000 basic salary.
Uncapped commission.
Realistic OTE around £70,000, depending on performance.
Predominantly inbound customer enquiries.
Product and technical training.
Support from experienced design, installation and operations teams.
Free on-site parking.
