Summary

Literacy Intervention Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Grade 6 - 30 hours

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Outstanding school as a Literacy Intervention Teaching Assistant.

The role will focus on literacy interventions and supporting pupils in all year groups to achieve their potential whilst encouraging a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted literacy interventions to identified pupils in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
Create an encouraging and inclusive atmosphere that nurtures self-confidence and a positive approach to learning.
Support pupils to develop reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and handwriting skills.
Create an encouraging an inclusive atmosphere that nurtures self-confidence and a positive approach to learning.
Monitor pupils progress and maintain accurate records to assess and evaluate the impact of interventions.
Liaise effectively with staff, pupils and parents/carers where appropriate.
Support with the day-to-day organisation, management and development of the school library.
Promote reading for pleasure and encourage a lifelong love of reading across the school.
Support reading events, competitions, author visits, book fairs and other literacy enrichment activities.

Essential Qualifications

Level 2 or equivalent qualification in - English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
