Full job description

Aubrey Park is an independent hotel conveniently close to St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead being only 5 miles from both towns. A stylish hotel set in 9 acres of landscaped gardens and woods.

We are currently recruiting for an ambitious and inspiring Sous Chef.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an outstanding team and develop your career.

Main responsibilities

Overseeing the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
Planning and directing food preparation and presentation of culinary dishes to a high standard
To monitor stock movement and ensure stock security.
To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
To assist with the provision of training and development for department staff in kitchen
Comply with health and safety and food safety legislation throughout the department

What we are looking for

Previous supervisory experience within a hotel environment
Must be highly passionate about food and its quality and presentation
Have the creativity to produce the finest food using only the finest ingredients
Excellent organisation skills with a hands-on approach
Must be confident under pressure in a busy environment
Good attention to detail with dedication and commitment

28 days holiday (including bank holidays)

40 hours per week

Working 5 days out of 7 (weekends included)

We do not provide live in accommodation

In line with the requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. As part of the recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documented evidence of eligibility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
