We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients, work closely with business owners, and become a trusted part of their journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records and keeping financial data up to date
Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact
Processing invoices, payments, receipts and expenses
Completing bank reconciliations and managing accounts payable and receivable
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Supporting clients with HMRC requirements and compliance obligations
Assisting with the preparation of management reports and year-end accounts
Managing client deadlines effectively and ensuring work is completed to a high standard
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and proactively support clients' needs

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who combine technical expertise with excellent client service.

Ideally, you'll have:

Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or multi-client environment
Experience using Xero, FreeAgent or similar cloud accounting software
Experience working with small businesses, sole traders and limited companies
The ability to prepare accounts to draft stage
A solid understanding of VAT and bookkeeping principles
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to manage multiple priorities and client deadlines
A collaborative, positive and professional approach
Not essential but already studying or plans to study a relevant qualification
