Full job description

We are a specialist care provider based in Manchester, supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs across residential, outreach, and day service settings. Our work is underpinned by a strong commitment to dignity, choice, and promoting meaningful independence for every individual we support.

We are currently seeking a Support Worker to join our dedicated team Manchester.

As a Support Worker, you will provide essential assistance and guidance to promote independence and well-being. Your role will be vital in creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their personal goals.

Duties

Assist clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and household tasks in a respectful and empathetic manner.
Co-operate with all Service staff in maintaining / promoting good relationships with outside agencies and the general public in order to uphold the image of the Company and increase support for its work.
Promote a positive image of people with mental health problems, learning disability or autism.
Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and community activities to enhance social integration.
Ensure the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of service users as far as practicably possible
Maintain accurate records of support provided, progress made, and any incidents or concerns.
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support delivery.
Promote a positive environment by demonstrating patience, understanding, and active listening skills.

Skills

Ability to work within and promote a cohesive team working environment and equally able to work to high standards without direct supervision.
Strong mentoring abilities to guide individuals towards achieving their personal goals.
Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills to build trust and rapport with clients, families, and team members.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of 'Ordinary Life' principles.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, Fire, Health and Safety Regulations.
Compassionate attitude with a commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and respect for all individuals.
