Full job description

Dispatch Operative

Location: Peake Fruit, Ardleigh
Pay: £14.25 per hour

Working Hours: Hours worked between 7:00am and 8:00pm, with flexibility to work later when required to meet business needs.

Peake Fruit is looking for a reliable and hardworking Dispatch Operative to join our team in Ardleigh.

This is an active role, with approximately 60% manual handling and 40% Counterbalance Forklift work. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring goods are picked, packed, checked and dispatched accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Picking and packing fruit and other goods accurately and efficiently.
Loading and unloading lorries safely and within required timeframes.
Operating a Counterbalance Forklift as part of the dispatch operation.
Completing goods-in and goods-out duties.
Checking incoming and outgoing deliveries.
Ensuring orders are prepared and ready for dispatch within specified timeframes.
Moving stock safely around the warehouse and dispatch areas.
Carrying out regular manual handling as part of the day-to-day role.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Following all company health and safety procedures.
Working as part of a team to ensure customer orders and deliveries are completed on time.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
Comfortable with regular manual handling
Able to work efficiently to deadlines and within set timeframes.
Confident working in a busy warehouse and dispatch environment.
Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
Flexible regarding working hours, including the possibility of working later when business needs require.
Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining high standards of workplace safety.
Experienced in warehouse, dispatch or logistics work is desirable.

A valid Counterbalance Forklift licence is an advantage, but it is not essential, as full in-house training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Own transport is essential due to the location and working hours.
