Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service industry, particularly in a fast-paced restaurant, hotel, or catering setting. The role involves supporting culinary staff by ensuring all kitchen areas are hygienic and well-stocked, contributing to the smooth operation of our establishment.

Duties

Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables and preparing ingredients as needed
Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet hygiene standards
Washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently and promptly
Restocking supplies such as cutlery, crockery, and cleaning materials to ensure smooth workflow during service hours
Supporting the culinary team with organisational tasks to maintain a tidy kitchen environment
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Ensuring compliance with all food safety standards and health & safety policies at all times

Experience

Previous experience in a hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the industry. Skills that are beneficial include:

Food preparation and basic cooking skills
Experience working in restaurants, hotels or catering services
Familiarity with kitchen operations and hygiene standards
Customer service or serving experience within a hospitality setting
A proactive attitude towards cleanliness and organisation
Candidates with culinary or hospitality experience will find this role provides valuable insight into professional kitchen operations. Enthusiasm for working as part of a team in a dynamic environment is essential.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
