Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Operations Supervisor to oversee daily activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills to contribute to operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day performance of staff across the tea room, events room, and vintage retail shop.
Ensure staff follow company procedures and maintain high standards of customer service.
Carry out regular checks to make sure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
Hold fortnightly one-to-one or team meetings with staff to discuss performance, training needs, and any concerns.
Report staff performance, attendance, and any issues to the company managers.
Support the induction and ongoing training of new employees.
Monitor cleanliness, presentation, health and safety, and compliance across all departments.
Encourage teamwork and maintain a positive working environment.
Escalate disciplinary or performance concerns to the company managers, following company procedures.
Assist managers with implementing new procedures and business initiatives.

Reporting structure

This role would:

Supervise the 12 operational staff.
Report directly to the Company Managers.
Work under the guidance and direction of the Company Managers, who retain responsibility for strategic decisions, budgets, recruitment, and formal disciplinary matters.

Person specification

The ideal candidate would have:

Previous supervisory experience in hospitality, retail, or events.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Confidence in managing people and giving constructive feedback.
The ability to motivate staff and maintain high standards.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Flexibility to work across all areas of the business as required.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
