Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a thorough understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the highest quality of food and service. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for excellence and innovation.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation meet established standards
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while aligning with the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences
Manage food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring timely delivery of dishes during service hours
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency
Train staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
Organise staff rotas and manage labour costs effectively
Uphold a positive work environment that encourages creativity, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of staff
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Previous restaurant experience at a senior level is essential; hospitality experience is highly desirable
Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure during peak service times while maintaining high standards of quality
Good communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and front-of-house staff
Passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences

Pay: £27,508.61-£49,212.98 per year
