Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be an essential part of the kitchen, assisting in food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your enthusiasm for culinary arts and teamwork will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic hospitality environment while working alongside experienced chefs and kitchen staff.

Duties

Support the food production process by preparing ingredients and assisting in cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations at all times
Assist with food plating and presentation to ensure visually appealing dishes for service
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food items
Contribute to inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or discrepancies
Serve as a positive team player by supporting senior chefs and taking on additional responsibilities as needed

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Practical knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety procedures
Supervising or team management experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership qualities and the ability to guide junior staff
Familiarity with food production processes, culinary standards, and serving practices
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
Experience in hospitality roles that involve customer service or serving is advantageous
A genuine passion for culinary arts coupled with a desire to learn and grow within the industry

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
