Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Nursery Lunch Cover to join our early childhood education team. This role involves providing nutritious meals and supervision during lunchtime, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children in a nursery setting. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's daily routines within a supportive environment.

Duties

Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Assist with the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines
Encourage good manners and social interaction among children during mealtimes
Maintain a clean and hygienic dining area before, during, and after meals
Support children with their dietary needs and any special requirements
Engage children in light activities or conversation to promote social development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the lunchtime period
Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure smooth transition between routines

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a nursery, childcare, or early childhood education setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of childcare practices, health & safety standards, and nutrition guidelines for young children is highly desirable
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to build positive relationships with childrenand colleagues

Applicants should be committed to creating a safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience for young learners while fostering their social skills and independence.

Part time:

12pm - 2pm
5 days a week
