Full job description

We're looking for the right person to join our team.

We're a family-run, independent coffee shop that takes pride in serving great coffee, freshly prepared food and, above all, providing genuinely friendly customer service. Many of our customers visit us regularly, so creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere and delivering consistently high standards are at the heart of everything we do.

This is a part-time position, working mainly weekends throughout the year, with additional shifts often available during school holidays and to provide holiday cover. This is not a seasonal or summer holiday role, so applicants should be available to work weekends during both school term time and school holidays.

Previous hospitality experience is always welcome, but it isn't the most important thing to us. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, who enjoys working with people, takes pride in doing a good job and wants to become part of a friendly, hardworking team. Full training will be provided.

What the role involves

As part of our team, you'll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the coffee shop, including:

Welcoming customers and creating a positive experience.
Preparing and serving coffees, teas and other drinks.
Preparing and serving fresh food.
Taking customer orders and processing card and cash payments.
Keeping the coffee shop clean, well-presented and fully stocked.
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
Working closely with the rest of the team to deliver efficient, friendly service.

No two days are exactly the same, which is one of the things that makes the role so enjoyable.

Pay & Progression
Starting pay will reflect your age, experience and the responsibilities of the role. We operate a structured pay scale, with opportunities for pay increases as you develop your skills, experience and responsibilities. Our current hourly rates range from £8.80 to £13.00, with further opportunities for progression available over time for those who wish to take on additional responsibilities.
