Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you’ll be the backbone of our food service operation, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and support for our chefs and restaurant staff. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for both team members and guests, contributing to exceptional dining experiences every day. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hospitality and kitchen experience in a fast-paced, lively setting.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks under supervision, supporting chefs in basic cooking and ingredient handling.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently to ensure availability for ongoing food service.
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen organized and fully equipped.
Support the disposal of waste and recycling materials following proper procedures.
Help with basic food prep tasks such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients when required.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
Familiarity with kitchen operations gained through restaurant or hotel experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of hygiene standards and safety protocols in food service environments.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and support staff.
Basic culinary skills including serving or assisting with meal presentation are advantageous.
A positive attitude with enthusiasm for hospitality and delivering excellent guest service.
