Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team.

As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary operations of our restaurant. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and eager to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced environment.

You will work under the guidance of experienced chefs, contributing to the overall success of our kitchen while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Support senior kitchen staff in food production tasks, ensuring timely service during peak hours.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times.
Participate in inventory management by helping to monitor stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication during service periods.
Continuously learn new cooking techniques and improve culinary skills through hands-on experience.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a strong willingness to learn is crucial.
Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
A passion for culinary arts and a desire to grow within the restaurant industry.
