Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Driver/Handy Person to join our team. This role involves operating HGV's for delivery, MoT testing, collection, as well as providing general assistance around the premises. The ideal candidate will possess a strong driving background, particularly in commercial driving, and be capable of undertaking manual tasks as needed. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to utilise their driving skills while contributing to the efficient operation of our organisation.

Duties

Safely operate HGV vehicles for the transportation/collection to various locations.
Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to relevant road safety regulations.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections prior to journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
Provide general handyman support around the site, including light maintenance and organisational tasks.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with HGV or similar vehicles.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.
Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, with a focus on punctuality and professionalism.
Ability to handle manual tasks efficiently, including lifting and organising cargo.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and vehicle maintenance logs.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
A valid UK driving licence suitable for HGV or similar vehicles is essential.
