Full job description

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of customer projects across Vista's retail, hospitality and pharmacy customer base, with a primary focus on technology installations, moves, adds, changes, refreshes, rollouts and transformation programmes.

The role will manage multiple concurrent projects across the UK and Europe, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the agreed quality standards. The Project Manager will act as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating internal delivery teams, third-party partners and customer stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

This role requires strong commercial awareness, customer engagement skills and extensive experience managing large-scale technology deployments in fast-paced retail and hospitality environments.

· This role will be privy to confidential and sensitive information on a frequent basis and as such the individual undertaking the role will be expected to treat all information as sensitive, discussing it only with those people who have the necessary authority.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

Manage end-to-end delivery of installations, moves, adds, changes, refreshes and technology deployment projects.
Deliver multiple concurrent projects across retail, hospitality and pharmacy sectors.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs and governance documentation.
Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with agreed objectives, timescales and budgets.
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
Lead project governance meetings and customer steering groups.
Ensure effective transition from sales through delivery and into business-as-usual support.

Customer Management

Develop trusted relationships with customer stakeholders.
Act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
Chair project meetings and provide regular project status reporting.
Manage customer expectations effectively and professionally.
Escalate risks and issues proactively with clear mitigation plans.

Operational Coordination

Coordinate resources across PMO, Service Desk, Engineering, Logistics and Field Services teams.
Work closely with deployment coordinators and scheduling teams to optimise delivery efficiency.
Ensure site readiness activities are completed prior to deployment.
Support successful implementation, testing and handover activities.

Commercial Management

Monitor project profitability and resource utilisation.
Identify opportunities for additional revenue and service improvements.
Ensure project scope is controlled and variations are appropriately managed.
Support budgeting, forecasting and revenue recognition activities.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure projects comply with Vista management systems, policies and customer standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery processes.
Ensure accurate and timely project documentation is maintained.
Promote best practice project management methodologies throughout the organisation.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

Minimum 5 years' Project Management experience.
Demonstrable experience delivering retail and hospitality technology deployments.
Proven experience managing:

- New Store Openings (NSOs)

- Store refurbishments

- EPOS deployments

- Network installations

- Infrastructure refreshes

- Hardware rollouts

- IMAC projects

Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
Excellent planning and organisational capability.
Experience managing projects with multiple suppliers and subcontractors.
Strong commercial awareness.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel and project reporting tools.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Agile Project Management qualification.
MSP Foundation or Practitioner.
Retail technology sector experience.
Hospitality technology deployment experience.
Experience delivering projects across Europe.
