Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management. This role involves overseeing food production, ensuring high standards of food safety, and leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Chef will play a vital part in maintaining the quality and consistency of our menu offerings while fostering a positive and efficient kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to specified recipes and standards
Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior team members
Manage food production processes to ensure timely delivery of meals during service hours
Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and cleanliness within the kitchen
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and customer satisfaction
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation effectively
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Maintain equipment in good working order through regular cleaning and maintenance checks
Enforce health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks within the kitchen environment

Qualifications

Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or catering is highly desirable
A passion for culinary arts and continuous learning to stay updated with industry trends
