Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within care homes or providing home care services. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by delivering high-quality care with professionalism and empathy. The role involves working closely with clients to promote their well-being, independence, and comfort, ensuring they receive personalised support tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities

Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Supporting clients with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
Helping clients follow care plans designed to meet their individual needs
Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
Administering medication in accordance with prescribed guidelines (training provided if required)
Maintaining accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
Communicating effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
Assisting with light domestic tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
Driving clients to appointments or outings as needed (where applicable)

Experience

Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
Good understanding of care plans and the ability to adapt support accordingly
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and records
Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and team members
Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation of clients
