Job Purpose

The Telesales Executive is responsible for generating sales revenue by developing relationships with existing customers and proactively identifying new business opportunities over the telephone. The role involves promoting Sol Distribution's range of products and services, managing customer accounts, achieving sales targets, and delivering exceptional customer service to maximise customer satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities

Contact existing and prospective customers by telephone to promote Sol Distribution's products and services.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
Generate quotations and follow up on outstanding opportunities.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Achieve and exceed individual sales and KPI targets.
Upsell and cross-sell complementary products where appropriate.
Maintain accurate customer records using the company's CRM system.
Proactively identify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting.
Resolve customer queries professionally and escalate issues where necessary.
Work closely with the purchasing, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
Keep up to date with product knowledge, promotions, pricing, and industry developments.
Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and ongoing development activities.

Monthly sales revenue.

New customer accounts opened.

Quote-to-order conversion rate.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Previous experience in telesales, internal sales, or customer service.
Excellent communication and telephone skills.
Strong negotiation and closing ability.
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Ability to work towards and achieve sales targets.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated attitude.

Desirable

Experience within electrical, renewable energy, lighting, or wholesale distribution.
Experience using CRM and ERP systems.
Knowledge of the UK distribution or trade sector.
