Job Summary

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. Your proactive approach will help ensure that our culinary operations meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support the kitchen team, including washing vegetables, peeling, and chopping ingredients
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and equipment promptly and thoroughly
Ensure all kitchen surfaces are sanitized regularly to uphold health and safety standards
Support with waste disposal and recycling procedures to keep the kitchen tidy and compliant with environmental policies
Restock supplies such as utensils, cleaning products, and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Assist in setting up dining areas or service stations during busy periods to facilitate efficient service
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment

Skills

Experience in food preparation or working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene practices and safety protocols
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members
Basic culinary knowledge including handling kitchen equipment safely
Previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
A positive attitude with a commitment to supporting the team’s success in delivering excellent guest service
