Learner Progression Executive

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm
Location: Bexley – 100% Office Based
Salary: £28,000 Base + Uncapped Commission

As CST Training continues to grow, we are looking for a commercially driven Learner Progression Executive to help our existing learners take the next step in their professional development.

The Role

This is a sales-focused position centred around CST Training's existing learner base.

Every month, learners successfully complete qualifications and courses with CST Training. In many cases, completing one qualification is just one step in their career journey, with a natural progression route available through further qualifications.

Your job is to identify those opportunities.

You will proactively contact learners who have completed, or are approaching completion of, their course with CST Training. You will discuss their career goals, understand what they want to achieve next and recommend the most appropriate next qualification or training programme.

The objective is simple: turn successful course completions into successful learner progressions.

This is not primarily a customer service or administrative role. You will be expected to generate sales, achieve targets and consistently identify opportunities within our existing customer base.

Unlike traditional cold calling, you will be speaking predominantly with people who already know CST Training and have previously chosen to train with us. Your ability to build on that existing relationship and demonstrate the value of continuing their development with CST will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively contact learners who have completed or are approaching completion of their qualification.
Identify the logical next course or qualification for each learner.
Understand learners' career ambitions, current roles and future goals.
Recommend relevant progression routes across CST Training's portfolio.
Convert existing learners into repeat customers.
Make a high volume of proactive outbound calls each day.
Follow up previous conversations and opportunities consistently.
Explain the benefits, requirements and potential career value of further qualifications.
Identify cross-selling opportunities across different areas of CST Training's portfolio.
Build strong, long-term relationships with learners.
Maintain an active pipeline of progression opportunities.
Work through historic learner data to identify additional progression opportunities.
Respond to objections confidently and professionally.
Consistently work towards individual sales, revenue and conversion targets.
Maintain accurate records of calls, conversations and opportunities within HubSpot.
Ensure follow-up activities are scheduled and completed.
Develop excellent knowledge of CST Training's qualifications and progression pathways.
Work closely with our sales, delivery and customer service teams to identify opportunities for learner progression.
Provide feedback on common learner requirements to help CST Training develop its future course offering.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured by simply making calls. We are looking for someone who can create meaningful conversations with previous learners and turn those conversations into commercial results.

You will be expected to:

Consistently achieve or exceed monthly sales targets.
Generate repeat revenue from CST Training's existing learner base.
Maintain a strong pipeline of future progression opportunities.
Achieve strong conversion rates from learner conversations.
Develop an excellent understanding of qualification progression routes.
Build relationships that encourage learners to continue choosing CST Training throughout their careers.

Requirements

Proven experience in a sales-focused role.
Confident and comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.
Strong telephone sales and closing ability.
Ability to identify opportunities and confidently ask for the sale.
Experience working towards individual sales and revenue targets.
Strong objection-handling and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A consultative approach to sales – understanding the customer's goals before recommending a solution.
Strong follow-up discipline and the ability to manage a pipeline effectively.
Highly organised with excellent time-management skills.
Comfortable working with CRM systems and maintaining accurate customer records.
Working knowledge of HubSpot is desirable.
Previous experience within education, training, construction or professional development is desirable but not essential.
Willingness to develop detailed knowledge of CST Training's courses and qualification pathways.
A positive, resilient and commercially focused attitude.
Must be able to commute to our Bexley office, as this is a 100% office-based position.
