Full job description

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused team member to join our small but mighty café! If you love great coffee, enjoy chatting with customers, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous cafe experience is essential – you must be confident in making coffee to a high standard using a commercial espresso machine.
Flexibility – this is a flexible role with variable hours. Usually 10-15 hours per week.
Weekend availability is a must - this role is for 3 Saturdays a month.
Excellent customer service – positive language, a friendly attitude, and the ability to strike up a conversation with customers. (Don’t worry, they won’t be strangers for long – our customers are lovely!)
Efficiency & multitasking – we run a tight ship (more of a dinghy, really), so you’ll need to work quickly, clean as you go, and keep things running smoothly.
Cash handling – confidently process card and cash payments, including cashing up.
Key holder responsibilities – trustworthy and responsible, with the ability to open and close the café.
Commitment – we’re looking for someone who wants to stick around, not just a short-term role.

What We Offer:

A part-time role in a friendly team, working in a café with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Flexible hours 5–15 hours per week (hours will vary slightly during training)
Food hygiene certificate provided.
Professional barista training from Devon Coffee Company.

Please describe your barista experience, including the type of coffee machines you’ve worked on and the types of drinks you regularly prepared. It is required for this role that you are confident with milk steaming, including basic latte art - please do not apply if this isn't within your current skill set.
