About Strength & Learning Through Horses

Strength & Learning Through Horses (SLTH) is an award-winning London based youth charity delivering equine-assisted therapy, alternative education and mental health support to over 600 young people each year. Working from our centre in Barnet, we combine evidence-based therapeutic practice with the unique relational power of horses to help young people build emotional regulation, confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging. Where young people are unable to learn in a classroom setting, we can support them to access an education via our alternative education provision.

Following 15 years of sustained growth, we have become one of the UK’s largest providers of equine-assisted services. We are now entering an exciting new phase as we complete the development of a purpose-built centre, expand the number of young people we support and refine our strategy for the charity’s future growth including looking at expanding our reach to other locations via a training offer.

Job Description:

This is a 12-month fixed term maternity cover position. To be considered for the role, please submit your CV along with a cover letter outlining your relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide general administrative support to the Operations Manager, Programme Managers, Therapists, and other team members.
Respond professionally to enquiries from clients, donors, and other stakeholders.
Act as a focal point for referrals, enquiries, and communication between team members and service users.
Ensure administrative and clerical duties are carried out in accordance with the charity’s guidelines and policies.
Write and manage correspondence, reports, and referrals.
Liaise and respond to all queries and correspondence via telephone, email, letters, and system tasks.
Ability to support staff with data entry on CRM and reporting.

Job Specification:

Essential Skills:

Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication skills, including a good telephone manner.
Ability to learn and adapt to new computer software.
Understanding of or willingness to learn relevant terminology related to equine-assisted therapy and charity operations.
