Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a creative flair for menu development, and extensive knowledge of food safety standards. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining an organised, efficient, and hygienic environment. The Head Chef will be instrumental in shaping the dining experience and upholding the reputation of our establishment.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to diverse customer preferences
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high standards of culinary excellence and service
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor quality control throughout the cooking process to uphold consistency and excellence in all dishes
Assist in organising catering events and special functions as required
Maintain a positive and motivating work environment for all team members

Qualifications

Proven experience in a senior culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment
Extensive culinary expertise with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management
Experience with menu development, cost control, and inventory management
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and suppliers
Previous experience in restaurant settings is highly desirable; catering experience is a plus
Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred
