Head of Concrete Division

Sheridan Concrete

Manchester

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per year

Full-time | Permanent | Immediate Start

Sheridan Concrete is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Concrete Division to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running and continued growth of the business.

This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who can confidently manage the complete operation—from incoming sales enquiries and customer relationships through to daily planning, vehicle coordination and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full ownership of the daily operation of Sheridan Concrete

* Manage incoming sales enquiries, prepare quotations and convert leads into confirmed work

* Proactively follow up outstanding quotations and develop new business opportunities

* Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers

* Produce and manage daily schedules for drivers, vehicles and concrete deliveries

* Ensure jobs are planned efficiently and customers receive a reliable service

* Coordinate with drivers and operational staff throughout the working day

* Assist with vehicle maintenance planning, inspections, servicing and repairs

* Monitor vehicle availability and minimise operational downtime

* Work closely with Group management on pricing, costs, margins and business performance

* Resolve customer queries and operational issues quickly and professionally

* Ensure high standards of health and safety, compliance and customer service

* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, increase sales and grow the division

The Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience within the concrete, aggregates, construction or haulage industry

* Strong operational and commercial management experience

* Confident handling sales enquiries, quotations and customer negotiations

* Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills

* A good understanding of vehicles, maintenance schedules and transport operations

* Able to lead the division independently and take responsibility for results

* Commercially aware, motivated and focused on business growth

* Strong communication and customer service skills

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

* Good IT and administrative skills
