Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will deliver personalized assistance with daily activities, monitor residents’ health and well-being, and foster a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence. Your expertise will help ensure our residents receive the highest quality of care while maintaining their comfort, safety, and happiness.

Duties

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment Hoists and stand aids
Monitor residents’ vital signs, observe for changes in health status, and document findings accurately in compliance with moving and handling regulations.
Administer medications and manage care plans under the supervision of management
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering social engagement and mental stimulation.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care strategies for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities.
Support palliative care needs with sensitivity and professionalism while respecting residents’ wishes and comfort levels.
Conduct patient observation to identify early signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes; escalate concerns promptly.
Assist with documentation related to care plans, medication administration records, and incident reports in accordance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience working in senior care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, or home & community care environments.
Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration,
Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care training are highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents’ families, and other caregivers.
